About Us

The Heriot-Watt University Investment Society was established in 2012 with the aim of educating our members on financial markets and the investment industry. Ever since, our primary focus has been on developing the skills of our members, fostering curiosity, providing leading experiences and preparing one and other for future employment. Our purpose-led approach has contributed to the rapid growth of our society, which is now comprised of over 200 members and boasts the largest professional online following of all societies at Heriot-Watt University. Despite such growth, we remain guided by the three founding goals of our society:

 

1. To enhance the investment education of our member base.

2. To provide members with the opportunity to apply financial and investment theory to real-world situations.

3. To raise money for charitable bodies.
